Silver Diamine Fluoride
Is it too difficult for your child to receive a dental filling due to a developing cavity? If they can’t seem to sit still, we can provide silver diamine fluoride that does not require dental fillings to perform. Once applied, this unique medication can help stop the progression of decay, giving your child time to age and then be more prepared to receive a filling. It can also work to reduce dental sensitivity, a common issue that appears due to cavities.
Pulp Therapy
In some cases, cavities can reach very deep areas of the tooth, including the inner area where the pulp and nerve are located. In order to clean the area of any decay and save the tooth from needing an extraction, we can perform pulp therapy. During this treatment, we remove all bacteria, placed medicine directly into the inner area to relieve discomfort, and finally restore the tooth with a dental crown. Dr. Amar and his team will do everything possible to remove the need for an extraction.
Metal-Free Dental Crowns
Crowns are one of the most useful dental treatments available in dentistry to date. While stainless steel has been the standard for crown placement for quite some time, we also provide zirconia crowns, which are metal-free. These can be fully customized to cover teeth damaged by decay or injury as well as restore full function to the tooth in the process. With the help of these materials, we can even ensure that their tooth remains natural-looking after treatment is complete.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
In the past, amalgam silver was used to restore enamel damaged by bacteria and decay. However, these silver fillings often came with caveats that affected the long-term health of the crown. Now with tooth-colored fillings, which use composite resin instead of metal alloys, we can more effectively mold and shape the filling so that it fits better inside of the tooth, blends in perfectly with existing enamel, and does not cause future fracture of the tooth over time.
